Spray on makeup is mainly purchased to use on your face. But why not get creative with it?
There are other ways that you can use your spray-on makeup, maximizing the benefits of this fantastic product. Let me share a few of my favorite handy spray on makeup tricks with you.
First Thing’s First
This piece of advice goes for every usage you can think of. I find it always works better when you prepare your face before applying any makeup products, including spray on.
Tie your hair back so it is away from your face, and then ensure that your face is clean and dry. I don’t use very hot water, as this can leave your pores open and ready to eat up whatever you put on your face.
I prefer to use lukewarm water on my face and then pat it dry gently with a soft towel.
Water First
If you are feeling a bit nervous to try your new airbrush makeup system, a good idea is first to try it with water (and not the foundation).
This will give you a feel for how to hold the machine and spray the face. It can be a little daunting at first, so this is the best way to try it out without much fuss. Plus, it can be fun if you do it with a friend!
Pale Faced
Going out to an outdoors sunny event and looking a bit pale can be quite embarrassing. Maybe you are one of those people that is in desperate need of a tan?
What better way to give your face a little bronzer than by using your spray on makeup? Not only will you achieve a healthy sun-kissed look, but the makeup with leave you glowing as well.
Hide A Tattoo
Going to a function and wearing a dress that reveals a tattoo you’d rather not show everyone? Easy fix.
Just use your airbrush makeup and cover up the tattoo in gentle even strokes until you can’t see it anymore. This is a great way to make any scars or marks disappear if you’re feeling self-conscious about them. Rock that backless dress and don’t worry. The cover you achieve will last for hours.
Fine Lines, Wrinkles, And Contours
Using spray on makeup is a fabulous way to hide those annoying fine lines and wrinkles. You can make them disappear with just a little of the fine mist.
Once you have found your right shade, you can experiment with the number of layers you need to apply to cover up what you want to get rid of.
Another great trick to using spray on makeup is you can use different amounts of your chosen makeup item on different areas of your face.
Naturally, the fine mist will give you an even complexion. But if there are areas where you wish for a little more coverage, or you want to accentuate contour lines with a lighter touch, your airbrush easily allows you to do this.
Finishing Mist
I like to apply a mist spray first. I feel it sets the tone and evens out my skin. At the same time, it also helps the product to settle better onto my complexion.
Once I have sprayed on my face mist, I apply my foundation. Depending on the coverage I am going for, I will spray two to three layers. For more substantial coverage, especially if i am going out at nighttime, I will go for more cover.
During the day, when I am just out and about, I am usually going for a summer tanned, gentle, and natural look. I find only one to two sprays is more than enough for my typical daily routine.
I choose to always use my finishing spray after applying my makeup. This helps the makeup to set and stay on my face for as long as possible without spoiling; it also helps to keep my skin moisturized and hydrated.
